Samsung just launched its most audacious smartphone yet: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. At just 5.8mm thin and weighing 163g, it is the thinnest Samsung flagship ever made — and it arrives with serious hardware inside. The S25 Edge packs the same Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy and 200MP main camera found in the S25 Ultra, wrapped in a titanium frame that feels extraordinary in the hand.
The price of thinness is twofold: the battery is 3,900mAh (smaller than the standard S25’s 4,000mAh), and the telephoto lens is absent — it’s a dual-camera setup. Samsung argues the 200MP main camera’s digital crop capability compensates for the missing optical zoom in most real-world scenarios. Galaxy AI features are fully present; the 6.7-inch ProScaler display is stunning in person.
The timing is deliberate. Apple unveiled its own ultra-thin iPhone Air at 5.64mm in September, entering the thin race Samsung started in May. Samsung’s claim: thin premium flagship is a category it invented and intends to own. At $1,099, the Galaxy S25 Edge is for those who prize elegance above all else. By early 2026, the Galaxy S26 Ultra raised the bar further still.
