iPhone Air Is Official: Apple’s Thinnest iPhone Ever at 5.64mm, $999

Apple’s “Awe-Dropping” event unveiled the iPhone Air: at 5.64mm thin, it is the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever made — and thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. With a 6.5-inch display, the A19 Pro chip, a single 48MP rear camera, and a starting price of $999, the iPhone Air officially retires the iPhone Plus line and introduces a new form factor for Apple’s mainstream flagship. The Galaxy S25 Edge started the thin war — Apple just ended it.

The iPhone 17 gets its first-ever 120Hz ProMotion display and a 48MP ultrawide camera — the most feature-complete base iPhone ever at $799. The iPhone 17 Pro ($1,099) debuts a rectangular camera bar spanning the full back width, and the Pro Max starts at $1,199. All four models run iOS 26 Liquid Glass with enhanced Apple Intelligence.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 adds blood pressure monitoring and 5G. AirPods Pro 3 bring world-class ANC and live translation. Pre-orders opened September 12, on sale September 19. The thin phone war has a new champion.
