The Batman hits Chicago for additional filming

The Batman has hit Chicago for additional filming as production carries on.

Chicago has returned to its old role of playing portions of Gotham City. Featured extensively in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, and even in some Arrowverse filming, Chicago spends a lot of time doubling for Batman’s stomping grounds.

For those who wish to avoid spoilers, we feel this collection is fairly safe for you, but, as always proceed at your own risk if you wish to know nothing about the movie.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman has been in town for a few days shooting what appears to be second unit motorcycle passes, but without any sign of the Batsuit. That finally changed on Saturday night.

To be clear, everyone involved in the Chicago shoot thus far appears to be stunt workers with no sign of the main cast. It isn’t even clear if they will do any work in Chicago at this point, and all of this could simply be for driving scenes.

From the tracking dots, it does appear that a cape will be added in post-production for Batman.

A stunt double for Selina Kyle/Catwoman is also involved in the filming.

It wouldn’t be Gotham without some local flavor.

How many cities put their name on their license plates? States do, but not sure I have ever seen a city do it.

And here’s a quick reset for the stunt drivers.

There’s no indication as to what these scenes are for plot-wise, but it’s always nice to see someone in a Batsuit inf ront of a camera.

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
