CES 2026: Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Stuns the Show Floor at $2,900

CES 2026 Las Vegas technology AI

CES 2026 is back in Las Vegas, and Samsung just delivered the show’s most jaw-dropping hardware: the Galaxy Z TriFold — a smartphone that unfolds into a near-tablet 9.1-inch display. Samsung had launched the device in South Korea late in 2025, but CES is its moment in the global spotlight, and the reaction on the show floor is electric. A phone that folds three times sounds like science fiction. In person, it’s extraordinary.

The Z TriFold features two folding hinges, allowing it to open into a large tablet-like format while remaining pocketable when folded. Galaxy AI is deeply integrated throughout, with the expanded display optimised for multitasking, content creation, and AI-powered productivity. Snapdragon 8 Elite powers the experience. The $2,900 price tag is steep, but for foldable technology this sophisticated, it’s the price of admission to the frontier.

Beyond Samsung, CES 2026 featured Nvidia’s next-gen AI infrastructure announcements, humanoid robots from Figure and Agility Robotics demonstrating dexterous manipulation, and Qualcomm previewing its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 roadmap for later in 2026.
