Apple Unveils Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2025 With On-Device AI Across Product Line

Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence at its Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9, 2025, introducing on-device AI capabilities across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro as the company makes its most aggressive push into artificial intelligence.

Apple Intelligence brings on-device AI processing for translation, image generation, and contextual assistance without requiring constant cloud connectivity. The features emphasize privacy-preserving AI, processing sensitive data locally on the device rather than uploading it to external servers.

The company also announced iOS 26, macOS 26 “Tahoe,” and corresponding updates across its operating system lineup. These releases will ship in fall 2025 alongside the next iPhone generation expected in September.

Apple’s approach contrasts sharply with competitors like Google and Microsoft, who have embraced cloud-based AI models requiring internet connectivity. By processing AI workloads locally, Apple maintains its privacy positioning while delivering features users increasingly expect.

Industry observers note Apple’s late entry into the AI race comes with advantages: the company can learn from competitors’ missteps while leveraging its control over hardware and software to deliver tightly integrated experiences.
