Qualcomm Q3 FY2022 earnings record automotive

Qualcomm delivered a blockbuster Q3 FY2022 today, posting $10.9 billion in revenue — a 36% year-over-year increase — with record QCT Automotive and IoT revenues stealing the headline. The company’s diversification strategy beyond smartphones is working, and the numbers prove it emphatically.

Automotive revenue hit a quarterly record, driven by the rapid adoption of the Snapdragon Digital Chassis across new model launches. Qualcomm has now confirmed a $15 billion automotive pipeline for future designs — a figure that underscores how deeply Snapdragon technology is embedded in the next generation of connected vehicles. BMW, GM, Renault, and Stellantis are all in the mix.

Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm: “We are pleased to report strong quarterly results, with record QCT Automotive and IoT revenues in a challenging macroeconomic environment. We are also excited to announce the extension of our patent license agreement with Samsung and the expansion of our strategic partnership to deliver leading premium consumer experiences for Samsung Galaxy devices.”

Qualcomm’s EPS exceeded the high end of guidance by more than 50% year-over-year. The company is executing its diversification roadmap with precision.
