PUBG x Xiaomi : Game On

Xiaomi, a global technology leader, announced its partnership with PUBG MOBILE to debut the “Sole Survivor,” a multi-regional battle royal played on PUBG MOBILE that pitted the best Xiaomi Fan teams against one another for a chance of claiming the title of Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

As a global event, teams from 12 markets competed for a coveted spot as the sole representative and top team of their respective countries. Markets represented in the contest including Spain, France, Germany, Russia, Poland, Colombia, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Pakistan, Morocco, Netherlands, Belgium, and Egypt. Ultimately 11 teams showed up to the finals and went head-to-head across three PUBG MOBILE maps in a one-day competition.

The Sole Survivor finals were live-streamed on YouTube on July 17th 14:00 (GMT+1), with pro-e-sports commentators ImPERium and Maxman at the helm of commenting on the action move-by-move. Over 170,000 fans around the world tuned in to watch the action through Xiaomi’s official Xiaomi Community forum, along with its YouTube channel and Facebook page. Only one team claimed the title of Champion. But accolades and prizes would also go to the second and third-place finishers. Prizes for the top three finishers were as follows:

  • The Champion team would win a Redmi Note 10 5G
  • The Second-Place team would win Mi Air2s Headphones
  • The Third-Place team would win Mi In-Ear Headphones

Additional prizes were raffled off as a lucky draw on the day of the live-stream. Audiences tuning into the live broadcast had an opportunity to win 3 Mi Air 2s phones, 1 Redmi note 10 5G, and 3 Redmi Note 10s by answering a few questions about Redmi.

After hundreds of qualifying teams, with a dozen countries represented, in the end there was just one team, team Rage from Pakistan, named Winner Winner Chicken Dinner and the title of Sole Survivor Champion. As a Xiaomi community event, participants and the winner came out on top. Previously unknown, these Xiaomi Fans-turned-competitors were for the first time able to jump at an opportunity to show off their PUBG MOBILE skills on an international stage. And just maybe this was their first shot at becoming a PUBG MOBILE e-sports pro.

The success of Sole Survivor was a mutual win for both Xiaomi and PUBG MOBILE. Fans of PUBG MOBILE would marvel at the capacity and support Xiaomi has offered to pull off a multi-regional event of this caliber. Rivaling some e-sports competitions, Sole Survivor has strengthened the affinity between PUBG MOBILE users and the Xiaomi brand, while Xiaomi Fans had the chance of a lifetime to be globally recognized as champions.
